Ouch

So I was making waffles today, and burnt my finger by grabbing onto the side of the waffle iron. I just wasn't thinking I guess! The burn is only about the size of a dime on my finger, but it really hurts!! It looks like there will be a good blister. It makes me think though, about how painful it really must be if you were to get a larger burn!

On a more happy note, don't they look cute in their PJ's after a bath?

Random fact

I feel like I should blog a bit, but that I don't have much to blog about at the moment. So, here's a random fact for you I guess. Did you know that there is 100 calories in only one tablespoon of butter? That means that there are 800 calories in one stick. I hope this post has inspired you somehow:)

the tooth saga

So, we got to go to MI to spend some time with Grandma and Grandpa while Bill traveled for work, which was fun. The first night was crazy though. It always seems like the first night is the hardest to adjust! We finally get Hannah to go down, and then I hear my sister go in and tell her to "stop banging on the wall, your going to knock my stuff down!" So then Hannah starts crying and saying, "I miss my daddy, I want my daddy!" So, I thought I would be clever and try to distract her by saying, "why don't you show grandma your loose teeth?!" Well, this was the wrong move. My mom looks in her mouth and was like, "Wow, one of the teeth is gone!". I was like, "what?!" And then I looked, and sure enough, one of the teeth was gone, and we couldn't find it! I felt kind of bummed, like the girl's first loose tooth comes out, and we don't know where it is, or when it came out! And then we thought, she may have even swallowed it! So then we were like, maybe the other one should come out so she doesn't swallow that one. Well, boy oh boy! It took like over an hour of convincing, and calling Bill on the phone many times before we could convince her that this is what she should do.

Finally I got a pull at it, and it almost came out, but it was bleeding so I got her a paper towel, and then finally shortly after about midnight, I finally pulled it all the way out. We were all pretty tired after this, but all much calmer! We asked Hannah if she wanted to touch it, and she was like, No way! So then we put it in a baggie to put under her pillow, but when we stuck it under the pillow, she wouldn't put her head on the pillow! So we ended up putting it under my pillow! She was pleased in the morning though, when she woke up and found two dollars under her pillow. She got a little extra cause she was at grandma's house. I just fear that the next time she gets a loose tooth, she might be horrified! So we are hoping that she won't get another loose one for a long while!!

Trying new things

Bill and I got to try two new things this evening. We went to the Mall of America and got to ride the new Sponge Bob Rock Bottom roller coaster. It was pretty cool! Even maybe a little scary:) You go straight up and it looks like you are going to go right into the ceiling! Then the drop is pretty intense! And, you even go upside down once or twice.
Then we got a blizzard. Yum!! We tried the new tin roof brownie. Very tasty. The chocolate covered peanuts were excellent!

Growing up!

It came as a surprise yesterday when Hannah came up to me and said, "my tooth is wiggly!" Yup, she has a loose tooth!! I couldn't believe it! It was fortunate that she also had her first dentist appointment scheduled today! They said that it's usually 5 to 6 years old when you start loosing your teeth, but that it wasn't crazy uncommon to start at 4. Hannah did teeth early....getting her first teeth at 5 months. And they say the earlier you teeth, the earlier you loose them. It just makes her seem older to me! We told her that when she looses it, if she puts it under her pillow, she will get money. She thought that was so funny!! But, felt very excited that she had the potential to get money! We'll just have to see how long before it actually comes out!

The zoo

We got to take my sister to the zoo today. It was the perfect day for it weather wise! And a lot of people must have thought so too, cause it was packed!! The busiest that I have ever seen it! We didn't get to see too much, but we did see some of the baby farm animals, and then some fish. I think Lil's favorite animal must be a cow.

Even though she knows what other animals say, when we say, "what does a duck, or a cat, or a etc....", she always says "Moo!" And then when we sing Old McDonald with her, and we say, "and on his farm he had a...." and let Lil pick, she's like "COW!" So we thought we'd be great parents and take her to see the real cows, but when she saw them, she actually wasn't very impressed. Almost a little taken back. Maybe this will break her Moo and Cow streak.

Kind of Crazy

I went to work out at the YMCA in Eagan this morning, and I saw an interesting person there! I was on an elliptical, and all of a sudden I see Tim Pawlenty(the governor of MN) walk by to use some of the weight machines! I wasn't sure if it was him at first, but someone else looked at me to see if I saw the same thing too! So then I was curious if people would go up to him or not, but I only saw one person do that. So I just continued my work out, and towards the end he ended up on a weight machine next to me, so I just said, "are you Tim Pawlenty?" And he said yes, so I shook his hand. It was quite the crazy experience!

kick boxing

Bill and I have been doing a cardio kick boxing class every Monday night. It's been fun. It's getting easier to do some of the moves, but the class as a whole always is tough. Thinking about it though, if the class as a whole was getting easier, it probably wouldn't be as beneficial. Just my random thought for the day!
